Tim Thenell Bio
Playing Experience:
In 1989-1990, Tim Thenell’s quarterback career started at J.K. Mullen High School playing for both Tom Thenell (Tim’s brother) and Pete Levine. As a senior, he led Colorado’s highest classification (5A) in both passing yardage and touchdown passes, and was named First Team All-State. After spending one year at Northern Colorado playing for Joe Glenn and Kay Dalton, Tim transferred to Western State College where he became a three year starter for Duke Iverson. Western State made the Division II national playoffs all three years and was a semifinalist in 1992. Tim earned All-Conference honors as a junior and a senior, and was consistently in the top 5 in the country in pass efficiency. Tim then had a short stint playing for the Colorado Wildcats/Rocky Mountain Thunder in the Professional Indoor Football League.
Coaching Experience:
In 1995, Tim was offered the Offensive Graduate Assistant job at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) by Head Coach Tommy Tuberville and Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazone. He turned it down to stay in Colorado to pursue his life as husband and a father. While in Colorado (1995-present), Tim has been the quarterback coach at Bear Creek High School for ten years--off and on assuming the role of Offensive Coordinator during that time. Most recently (2006), Tim was the quarterback coach and “Offensive Consultant” for Heritage High School.
